"I’ve embraced this creative calling wholeheartedly, building a portfolio that reflects my love for nature and the world around me."
Nelia’s love for art was sparked at an early age in the vibrant city of Cape Town, deeply inspired by her mother, who was an art teacher. Following this innate passion, Nelia studied Fine Arts at the Cape Technikon in 1986 and 1987, laying the vital groundwork for her creative journey.
Although art was always close to her heart, her professional path initially took a corporate turn. She began her career in the financial sector as a broker with Old Mutual and later transitioned into the property industry, joining Seeff Properties in 2005 while living in the charming historic town of Tulbagh.
After 24 fulfilling years in Tulbagh - and having reignited her dormant passion for the brush in 2012 - Nelia felt the irresistible call of the ocean. In April 2023, she made the move to the pristine shores of Yzerfontein. This rugged, beautiful coastal town has since become her ultimate wellspring of inspiration, prompting her to fully step into her creative calling and open the doors of ArtEscape to fellow travellers and art lovers alike.
